Week 11 Summer CSA Shares

This weeks share's to include:

cantaloupe
onion
zucchini
beets
butternut squash
tomatoes

Hi everyone! Shew the weather is just silly this year isn't it? Not enough rain, then too much rain, too hot too early, late hard frost and the list goes on. It has been a very rough growing season! Summer items are coming to an end sadly. Cucumbers are done for the year. Yellow squash, patty pan squash and round zucchini are all really slowing down. But....the fall ornamentals are beginning to be ready.

A word of warning to all visitors. We gladly like to see visitors here at the farm. But absolutely no one is to go in the big barn by themselves or into the larger fields by themselves. Nothing has happened but, cows startle easily around strangers and could hurt a small child pretty badly this is a concern to me. I will never turn anyone away that wants to come visit! As far as being in the fields, that is never a problem either except, we have had a very bad deer problem this year which in turn has caused the coyotes to begin coming around again. The coyotes are now "running" during the daytime and have come less than 50 feet from myself. This alarms me and I put this warning out there out of concern for our customers that may be wanting to search for wild edibles. Please let us know you are coming I would never, never want to see anyone get hurt here, but also want people to know there are dangers to being in the woods at times.
